Ivy Creek Timber Frames offers in-house custom design, fabrication and installation of Timber Framed structures. We specialize in homes, barns, agricultural buildings, pavilions, event spaces, entryways and architectural timber details. Our structures are hand cut with a combination of traditional and modern techniques to our highest standards of workmanship. We are deeply invested in the spirit of our craft and enjoy witnessing the unique nature of each structure emerge. Great pleasure is found in the transformational nature of the design process. Timber framing is a centuries old tradition of creating shelter with an intricately connected framework of large and small timber.
Using mortise and tenon joinery and held together with select riven hardwood pegs, they are incredibly robust and graceful.
There are different examples of this building practice from all over the world. Each one uniquely shaped by their culture, necessity and local resources. Though different in many ways, they are interconnected by the dedicated craftspeople driven to create both the essential and the magnificent.
